Our archery classes start with the Explore Archery program. This is a six week course, with 60 minute classes for new archers ages 8 and up.
A USA Archery Recreational membership is required for any participant who attends an Explore Archery program.
N.B. For safety reasons archers must remove face masks while shooting. We require face masks at all other times. Archers are spaced 6' apart while waiting and while firing.
JOAD and Adult Archery Plans available from $100•Purchase required to enroll
Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) is open to any youth archer aged 8 to 20 and is designed to grow with the youth archer. Introductory JOAD classes teach the fundamentals of proper shooting form; as the young archer develops, they will learn more advanced techniques and earn achievement awards.
At the same time, we will be teaching our Adult Archery Program. The Adult Archery Program is a program of USA Archery for adults ages 21 years and older. Participants in the Adult Archery program can enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition.
Enroll in one class for the Recreational Plan or two classes with the JOAD and Adult Archery Plan. One class per week is recommended for archers ages 8-11. For ages 8 and up. A USA Archery membership is required. JOAD membership requires a competitive membership.

How Open Archery Shooting Works
- You must use reserve for a space for you or your group to ensure we can accommodate you. Walk-ins are not permitted.
- After you arrive and check-in, we go over the basics of shooting and range rules for safety if you’ve never been to Nova Archery Club before. If you’ve been to Nova Archery Club before, you can check-in, get set-up and start shooting immediately!
- We’ll fit you with all the equipment you’ll need to shoot and get you shooting in a few minutes.
- Proof of USA Archery membership required. (An annual USA archery membership is $15.)
- Barebows, compound, recurve and longbows under a 60 pound draw are welcome.
- No broadheads or crossbows.
- All individuals wishing to participate in Open Shooting must be at least 8 years of age.

Archery Instructors Needed.
USA Archery can always use certified Level 1 Archery instructors. L1 Instructors helps ensure and maintain the safety of archery. Target Archery has enjoyed a fantastic record of safety at archery ranges across the country and we’d like to keep that way. With our safe archery ranges, the level of participation and enjoyment has always been very high. As a L1 Instructor you will learn range safety, setting up ranges, shooting cycle steps, proper use of archery equipment and repair, programs offered by USA Archery and lesson plans.
The L1 Certification is typically a day course with testing at the end of that day. After successful completion, the L1 Certification is good for three years. Candidates must be 15 years or older.
